Job Summary – Remote Area Driver Role
As a transport driver, you will operate company-supplied vans, 4×4 vehicles, or minibuses, safely transporting employees between operational sites, mine zones, and camps. These routes often include off-road and remote areas across the Northern Territory. Your main duty will be ensuring the safety and timely transport of personnel while adhering to fatigue management and transport compliance regulations.
This role is highly suitable for experienced drivers familiar with defensive driving and site-based protocols. You’ll report to site management and must be prepared to work under variable weather and road conditions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive employees to and from operational locations including mine sites and camps
- Operate vans, 4×4 vehicles, and minibuses over remote and off-road terrain
- Follow Safer Together Transport & Vehicle Standards at all times
- Adhere strictly to site safety procedures and fatigue management practices
- Report any vehicle issues or road incidents to relevant supervisors
- Maintain transport logs and complete required checklists
- Ensure vehicle is clean, serviced, and compliant with all operational standards
- Coordinate with field teams for pickup and drop-off schedules
- Manage transport across diverse road conditions and geographical zones
- Promote a safety-first driving culture throughout the assignment
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Valid Driver’s License (Car and/or 4×4 class)
- Defensive Driving Training Certificate (must be provided)
- Demonstrated driving experience in remote/off-road environments
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in transportation or logistics
