About the Role
As the General Manager – New Zealand Operations, you will play a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of SunPork Group. This position involves overseeing multiple pig farming operations across both the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
Your primary focus will be on optimizing systems, ensuring operational efficiency, and achieving key business goals. You’ll lead a diverse team across various sites, implement strategic production initiatives, and ensure compliance with all animal welfare, environmental, and safety regulations. This is a full-time role ideal for someone passionate about agribusiness leadership and large-scale livestock management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple pig farming operations across New Zealand.
- Manage productivity targets, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Ensure biosecurity, herd health, and animal welfare standards are met.
- Lead and develop culturally diverse teams to foster high performance.
- Prepare and manage budgets, including capital expenditure projects.
- Monitor environmental sustainability compliance across all sites.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders for operational coordination.
- Drive continuous improvement in production and efficiency.
- Manage financial reporting, risk assessments, and resource allocation.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pork or intensive animal production industry.
- Proven experience as a Senior Manager or General Manager in agribusiness.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with cross-cultural teams.
- In-depth understanding of herd health, nutrition, and biosecurity protocols.
- Demonstrated financial and operational management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or Rural Operations (preferred).
- Ability to relocate and work independently as well as collaboratively.

Salary and Benefits
SunPork offers a competitive annual salary between NZD 78,000 and NZD 88,400, depending on experience. In addition, the package includes:
