Whether working in the orchard or the packhouse, you will play an important role in delivering premium New Zealand fruit to local and international markets during the busy cherry season.

The company works closely with over 700 Kiwi growers and operates its own orchards and farms. Hinton’s Orchard, located in Alexandra, is one of New Zealand’s largest stonefruit orchards, covering 159 hectares. This fifth-generation family-owned orchard is well known for producing premium cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, and peacharines for customers across New Zealand and Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Picking cherries and other stonefruit in the orchard
  • Assisting with fruit handling and quality checks
  • Working in the packhouse to pack fruit for market
  • Ensuring fruit meets quality and presentation standards
  • Following health, safety, and hygiene guidelines
  • Supporting team members during busy harvest periods
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area

Job Requirements

  • Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • Own reliable transport to travel to and from work
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual work
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in packhouse environments
  • Available for seasonal work starting in early January
  • Able to pass required security checks
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
