Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise the work of specialized livestock workers
- Supervise farm machinery operators and livestock labourers
- Oversee maple syrup tapping and harvesting labourers
- Assist with moving farm products during winter months
- Help prepare farm products for shipment
- Supervise and manage breeding and livestock-related programs
- Ensure the farm remains clean and well-organized
- Help maintain and take care of farm equipment
- Monitor and enforce procedures to protect animal and crop health
- Supervise crop-related operations, including grain production
- Perform tree tapping in all weather conditions
- Supervise maintenance of farm infrastructure and supplies
- Ensure farm safety rules and procedures are followed
- Perform general farm duties as required
- Complete other tasks related to farm operations
Requirements
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Comfortable working with small animals
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Willing to work evenings and weekends when required
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s licence is an asset
- Ability to drive farm machinery is an asset
