Job Overview
As a Cleaner at the Silver Fern Farms Hokitika site, you will play a key role in maintaining high hygiene, safety, and quality standards within the processing facility. This position suits individuals who are reliable, physically fit, and willing to work evening or night shifts depending on seasonal production requirements.
You will complete full on-the-job training and earn a minimum hourly rate of $28.82, plus additional extras and overtime opportunities. All work clothing and safety equipment are provided by the company.
Key Responsibilities
Your main duties as a Cleaner will include:
- Cleaning and sanitising processing areas to strict hygiene standards
- Safely handling and using chemical cleaning products
- Following health, safety, and quality compliance requirements
- Working closely with team members to complete cleaning schedules
- Ensuring equipment and work areas meet audit and food safety standards
- Completing tasks efficiently during evening or night shifts
- Supporting overall plant cleanliness and operational readiness
Job Requirements
To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- No previous experience required (full training provided)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Physically fit and able to meet job demands
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical check
- Able to pass a criminal convictions check
- Willing to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals
- Able to understand and follow safety and compliance procedures
Working Hours and Shifts
- Usually 30 hours per week, with overtime available
- Evening and night shifts depending on season
- Shifts may range between:
- 2:00pm to 11:00pm
- 11:00pm to 5:00am
