Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager Horticulture Job in Qatar to join the team at The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa in Qatar. Responsibilities
- Monitor hotel property grounds to ensure they remain clean, safe, and attractive.
- Install, maintain, and replace flowers, bulbs, shrubs, grass, and trees.
- Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes through watering, pruning, trimming, and weeding.
- Operate irrigation systems and ensure efficient water usage.
- Conduct lawn care activities such as mowing, edging, raking, and leaf removal.
- Trim and prune trees and shrubs to maintain health and appearance.
- Operate vehicles and equipment, including dump trucks, tractors, and utility vehicles, to transport supplies and materials.
- Maintain and clean all landscaping tools and equipment after use.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with seasonal duties such as snow and ice management (where applicable).
- Support team goals and carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
- License: Valid Driver’s License required.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, and landscaping practices.
- Ability to operate and maintain horticultural equipment safely.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform outdoor tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and for extended shifts.
- Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
