KSpecific Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist the Human Resources team with the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities of a unionized workplace
- Organizes and participates in the recruitment process (interviews, references, criminal record checks)
- Coordinates on-boarding, orientations and training for new hires.
- Coordinates employee recognition, retirement and service awards.
- Coordinates professional development training for employees
- Assists with the implementation and/or maintenance of a variety of projects related to the automation of human resource functions such as EDAS, SDS, and Attendance Management initiatives, and recruitments;
- Provides support to employee wellness;
- Assists with the administration of employment contracts for support staff, facilities staff, and other staff as directed;
- Coordinates and support investigations as required;
- Coordinates and supports the Job Evaluation processes;
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, including the ability to plan and follow-up on projects;
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Holds a CPHR designation or working towards designation.
- Exceptional oral and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills and professionalism.
- Ability to be thorough, accurate and exercise high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Applications (Office 365, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Abilityto exercise discretion, confidentiality and sound judgement.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to deal with people in a courteous, calm and effective manner.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify key information and issues, and effectively resolve them.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work exercising strong organizational and time management skills.
