As a Farm Attendant, you will work closely with fish performance managers, control room teams, and other operational units to ensure salmon husbandry standards remain high.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Fish Performance Manager with daily salmon husbandry tasks.
- Support day-to-day operations across marine sites and shore bases.
- Maintain vessel safety as a skipper or crew member and follow all operational procedures.
- Ensure marine and land-based areas remain clean, organised, and safe.
- Monitor feed spreads, cameras, and winches to ensure proper functioning.
- Assess fish hunger levels and report behaviour or predator activity.
- Repair and maintain feed-related equipment.
- Assist feed delivery teams with transferring feed to barges.
- Report feed barge maintenance issues to Fish Performance Managers.
- Complete and update documentation, including feed equipment audits and asset tracking.
- Action feed barge maintenance requests promptly.
- Support installation of equipment, pen mooring, and general marine infrastructure tasks.
- Maintain strong communication with the Control Room and respond to requests quickly.
- Monitor and report predator activity, including seals and birds.
- Follow biosecurity procedures during cleaning and equipment handling.
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace health, safety, and Huon policies.
- Carry out additional duties as directed.
