Job Summary – What This Role Offers You
As a Mechatronics Engineer at FlyFarm Systems, you’ll play a key role in designing, testing, and implementing automated hardware systems for our vertical farming platform. You’ll work closely with a tight-knit technical team developing robotics, sensor integrations, and data systems to run our farms remotely and efficiently. This position combines software and hardware engineering, offering a dynamic environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to innovate.
Responsibilities – What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be working with both Arduino and Python to drive real-time automation and system control. Your main tasks will include:
- Writing Arduino code to control robotic movement and automation hardware
- Developing Arduino scripts to interface with IoT sensors and cameras
- Creating Python programs to handle data retrieval and storage
- Assisting in the R&D of new robotic prototypes
- Testing and simulating mechanical motion systems in-house
- Supporting the farm implementation team in Brisbane with on-site rollouts
- Troubleshooting software-hardware integration issues
- Improving automation reliability and performance across systems
- Documenting all processes and development updates clearly

Qualifications and Skills Required
