Key Responsibilities
As part of the tomato production team, you will perform various roles across the crop, picking, and packing departments:
Crop Work
- Care for tomato plants through leafing, pollinating, twisting, and lowering.
- Work in warm, humid glasshouse conditions (up to 30°C).
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements while standing or walking for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Occasionally work at heights depending on the task.
Picking
- Harvest ripe tomatoes carefully and efficiently.
- Work in glasshouses with warm and humid conditions.
- Stand or walk for up to 9.5 hours per shift with scheduled breaks.
- Maintain product quality and follow hygiene standards.
Packing
- Pack tomatoes in a cooled indoor facility (approximately 12°C).
- Conduct visual quality checks and ensure produce is packed according to company standards.
- Perform repetitive manual tasks while standing for long periods.
Requirements
- Must have access to reliable transport to reach work sites (no public transport available).
- Physically fit and able to work in warm, humid, or cool environments.
- Capable of standing or walking for long hours and performing repetitive movements.
- Basic understanding of spoken and written English.
- Commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Quality standards.
- Must hold valid work rights in Australia.
- Preference for candidates with secure accommodation near Guyra (NSW 2365) or surrounding areas.
