Responsibilities
As a Tomato Worker at Costa Australia, you may work across three key operational areas:
1. Crop Work
- Caring for tomato plants through leafing, pollinating, twisting, and lowering
- Working in glasshouses with temperatures up to 30°C and high humidity
- Standing or walking for 8 hours per shift
- Performing repetitive light-movement tasks with hands and arms
- Occasionally working at heights
- Rostered mainly Monday to Friday
2. Picking
- Harvesting ripe tomatoes efficiently and safely
- Working in warm glasshouse conditions
- Standing or walking for up to 9.5 hours per shift
- Performing light repetitive tasks with hands and arms
- Occasionally working at heights
- Shifts typically rostered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
3. Packing
- Packing tomatoes in a controlled indoor environment cooled to around 12°C
- Standing for 9.5 hours per shift
- Performing repetitive hand and arm movements
- Ensuring accurate packaging and quality control
- Shifts mostly rostered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Requirements
