Responsibilities
- Read and interpret welding blueprints and detailed drawing specifications
- Fabricate transformer tanks and boxes using GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) techniques
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting assigned deadlines
- Assist the Supervisor in solving mechanical issues and implementing solutions
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet CSA, CWS, and company quality standards
- Handle medium to heavy materials as required during fabrication
- Complete assigned work within expected time frames while minimizing scrap and rework
- Maintain accurate shop records and follow all company procedures
- Operate welding and metal fabrication tools and equipment safely
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Use all required PPE and follow strict safety protocols
Requirements
- Knowledge of metal work fundamentals
- Canadian Welding Bureau Certification (CWB) preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in metal stamping, fabricating, or a related industry
- Ability to operate various welding and cutting equipment, including:
- Manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment
- Flame-cutting equipment
- Oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) tools
- Drill presses
- Hoisting/lifting equipment
- Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tapes and squares
- Highly motivated, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Day Shift: Mon–Thu 7:00am–4:00pm, Fri 7:00am–1:30pm
