Job Responsibilities
The Welder will be responsible for a wide range of welding and metal fabrication tasks, including but not limited to:
- Performing welding duties using electric, acetylene, inert gas shielded welding, brazing, tack welding, pressure welding, flame cutting, and heat treating
- Interpreting building plans, blueprints, and technical drawings for fabrication and repair work
- Laying out angles, arcs, and circles using welding techniques and mathematical calculations
- Adjusting and installing ductwork and piping to support HVAC/R systems
- Performing welding in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions on light and heavy metal structures
- Conducting precision welding on jigs, dies, and engineering equipment
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times
- Following comprehensive safety programs in compliance with V2X, OSHA, and USAF standards
- Safeguarding all government- and contractor-provided tools, equipment, and facilities
- Accurately completing time reporting and documentation procedures
- Participating in required training programs, including safety and deployment-related training
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support contractual and mission requirements
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman card for the respective trade through a recognized apprenticeship program, state certification, or equivalent
- Valid or expired state contractor’s license or nationally recognized certification (ICC or equivalent)
- Documented military journeyman-level experience (DD214 accepted)
- Valid U.S. passport and U.S. driver’s license (manual transmission required)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain an Air Force flight line driver’s license and access badge
- Successful completion of medical, dental, psychological, drug testing, and background checks
- Successful completion of hands-on CBRN defense training and protective gear fit testing
