Responsibilities
As a Poultry Worker – Relocation Technician, you’ll work as part of a dedicated team responsible for maintaining the welfare and movement of poultry across the farm operations. Key duties include:
- Safely and efficiently loading and unloading birds in accordance with animal welfare standards.
- Working within various intensive livestock systems under supervision.
- Performing general farm and shed maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs.
- Inspecting pens, nets, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment in compliance with biosecurity requirements.
- Supporting bird relocation and vaccination operations as needed.
- Following all company safety, welfare, and operational procedures.
- Completing additional duties such as gardening or site maintenance when required.
- Working flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or night shifts, based on operational needs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy lifting, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
- Willingness to work in dusty, outdoor, and fast-paced environments.
- Own reliable transport to travel between sites within a 20 km radius of Millmerran.
- Commitment to animal welfare and hygiene standards.
- Ability to follow biosecurity protocols, including showering and changing clothing before entering work areas.
- Must not keep live birds or pigs at home due to biosecurity policies.
