Responsibilities
As a Welder at Charl-Pol Inc, your duties will involve performing a variety of welding and fabrication tasks in an industrial setting. Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting welding process specifications and blueprints
- Operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal parts and assemblies
- Operating oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) and AOC equipment
- Determining weldability and choosing appropriate materials
- Operating hoisting and lifting equipment safely and efficiently
- Using pre-set welding machines to fabricate or repair metal products
- Working with materials such as magnesium alloys, steel, iron, and heavy metals
- Ensuring quality, precision, and adherence to safety standards in all welding activities
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for this role:
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Work Language: English or French
- Physical ability to work in confined, hot, dusty, or noisy environments
- Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
- Must have personal protective gear, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and welding helmet
