Responsibilities

As a Welder at Charl-Pol Inc, your duties will involve performing a variety of welding and fabrication tasks in an industrial setting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting welding process specifications and blueprints
  • Operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Fitting, brazing, and torch-straightening metal parts and assemblies
  • Operating oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) and AOC equipment
  • Determining weldability and choosing appropriate materials
  • Operating hoisting and lifting equipment safely and efficiently
  • Using pre-set welding machines to fabricate or repair metal products
  • Working with materials such as magnesium alloys, steel, iron, and heavy metals
  • Ensuring quality, precision, and adherence to safety standards in all welding activities

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements to qualify for this role:

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Work Language: English or French
  • Physical ability to work in confined, hot, dusty, or noisy environments
  • Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
  • Must have personal protective gear, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and welding helmet

Skills

  • Proficiency in operating soldering machines and other welding tools
