Job Responsibilities
As an Agriculture Assistant, you will support daily operations and academic activities of the Agriculture Department. Key duties include:
- Answering and managing Ag Department telephone calls.
- Assisting in achieving daily agricultural grant objectives.
- Handling heavy lifting (over 40 pounds) and performing field labor when needed.
- Organizing department files, correspondence, and reports.
- Helping plan, schedule, and conduct activities for 4-H participants and stakeholder meetings.
- Driving 4-H participants to and from training and learning sites.
- Preparing and managing department documents, correspondence, emails, and faxes.
- Coordinating meetings, workshops, and agricultural programs.
- Ordering and maintaining department supplies and equipment.
- Supporting data entry, reporting, and administrative documentation.
- Performing other duties as assigned by department management.
Requirements
To be considered for the Agriculture Assistant role, candidates should have:
- A valid driver’s license (mandatory).
- Associate Degree preferred but not required.
- A strong background in agriculture and fieldwork.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
