Responsibilities
As a Gardener at Humphreys Landscaping Ltd, your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing general garden maintenance across high-end residential properties
- Operating power tools including hedge trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers
- Pruning and grooming a wide range of plant materials
- Managing soil health, appearance, and garden presentation
- Applying fertilisers, including organic and conventional products
- Identifying and managing pests using organic and other pest control methods
- Maintaining garden areas to the highest aesthetic and safety standards
- Working collaboratively with team members to complete daily tasks efficiently
- Communicating professionally with clients and team members
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Eligible to work in New Zealand (NZ citizen, resident, or valid work rights)
- Full driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Previous experience in garden maintenance or landscaping
- Physically fit and able to perform outdoor work in various conditions
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to work as part of a professional gardening team
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A horticulture qualification (preferred)
- Strong plant knowledge and hands-on gardening experience
- Ability to safely manage and operate gardening power tools
- Good understanding of pruning, fertilising, and soil management
