We are seeking a skilled Welder Job in New Zealand to join our team in AUSTRALIA. This role involves the fabrication, welding, assembly, and repair of metal components and structures in accordance with engineering drawings, safety standards, and quality requirements. The successful candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision and delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using cutting, bending, and shaping equipment
- Operate workshop machinery including:
- Press brakes
- Guillotines
- Grinders
- Drills and saws
- Ensure welds meet quality, strength, and appearance standards
- Conduct inspections and repairs on fabricated items
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Comply with WHS policies and procedures
- Meet production targets and deadlines
- Work independently or as part of a team
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5* years’ experience* as a Welder Fabricator (Australia or overseas)
- Proven experience in structural, workshop, or site welding
- Ability to weld in multiple positions
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Ability to work from drawings without constant supervision
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications & Certifications (Preferred / Required)
- Trade qualification in Welding / Fabrication / Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Valid White Card (for site-based roles)
- Welding tickets or certifications (advantageous)
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
