We are a Christchurch-based Courier Driver Job in New Zealand company providing reliable and timely delivery services to our customers. We are currently seeking a motivated and responsible Courier Driver to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and deliver parcels, documents, and mail to residential and business addresses within Christchurch and surrounding areas
- Plan and follow delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods
- Sort, sequence, and organise items according to delivery routes
- Load and unload parcels and mail safely and securely
- Ensure all deliveries and pick-ups are completed on time and in accordance with company procedures
- Handle all items with care to prevent loss or damage
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain proof of delivery (including customer signatures where required)
- Collect payments and charges for cash-on-delivery orders and issue receipts
- Receive delivery instructions and orders from customers
- Provide professional, courteous, and friendly customer service at all times
- Return undelivered items to the appropriate location and report delivery issues
- Keep records of items received and delivered, including delivery logs and documentation
- Maintain walk books, directories, mail counts, and delivery documentation
- Assist with receipting inward mail, checking misaddressed, missorted, undelivered, and redirected mail
- Process freepost and underpaid mail in accordance with procedures
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance to ensure safe operation
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies
- Use delivery equipment and internal mail-handling systems correctly and safely.
Requirements:
- Hold a full and valid New Zealand Class 1 driver’s license or an overseas driver’s license equivalent to a New Zealand Class 1 license
- Good knowledge of Christchurch roads and suburbs, or the ability to confidently use GPS and map navigation systems
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying parcels
- Reliable, punctual, and well organized
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Available to work weekends and early morning shifts (6am to 6pm)
- Previous courier or delivery experience is an advantage but not essential.
