Job Summary
The Carpenter at W Doha Hotel plays a vital role in maintaining the structural and aesthetic integrity of the property. From repairing furniture and woodwork to assisting in preventive maintenance, this role ensures that all fixtures and furnishings remain in pristine condition. Working within the Engineering & Facilities Department, you’ll collaborate closely with technicians, engineers, and hotel teams to maintain the highest standards of safety, appearance, and functionality across guest areas, restaurants, and back-of-house facilities.
This position is full-time, based onsite, and involves varied tasks—perfect for a versatile individual who enjoys practical challenges and takes satisfaction in visible, tangible results.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and maintenance calls.
- Perform carpentry repairs, including furniture, doors, cabinets, and decorative woodwork.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on kitchen, mechanical, and utility room equipment.
- Inspect, repair, and replace fixtures, locks, and fittings to ensure optimal functionality.
- Handle minor painting, drywall, and finishing work as required.
- Identify and operate shut-off valves for utilities and equipment when performing maintenance.
- Maintain the tools inventory and requisition supplies when needed.
- Collaborate with other shifts and departments, communicating work activities and issues.
- Follow company safety and lockout/tag-out procedures during maintenance tasks.
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance duties as assigned.
- Uphold Marriott’s safety, security, and environmental standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Some experience in general maintenance or carpentry; hotel maintenance experience is an advantage.
- License: Valid Driver’s License.
- Physical ability to move, lift, or carry objects up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving bending, climbing, or kneeling.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations for reporting and record-keeping.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
