Key Responsibilities

Crop Farm Workers at NS Kiwi Management Limited will perform a variety of essential farming duties, including:

  • Patrolling, inspecting, and reporting on the condition of crops.
  • Planting trees, seeds, seedlings, roots, bulbs, tubers, vines, and other plants using hand tools and farm machinery.
  • Undertaking soil preparation, cultivation, and maintenance tasks such as thinning, weeding, and hoeing.
  • Pruning and thinning trees and vines to promote healthy crop growth.
  • Spraying trees, vines, and plants with pesticides to control weeds, insects, fungi, and diseases.
  • Operating irrigation and water systems to ensure optimal crop development.
  • Building and maintaining growing supports such as trellises, fences, netting, and protective structures.
  • Selecting and picking fruits, nuts, grains, vegetables, and mushrooms according to company standards.
  • Grading, sorting, bunching, and packing harvested produce for transport.
  • Cleaning and maintaining farming equipment, sheds, irrigation systems, and general infrastructure.
  • Operating and maintaining general farm machinery used for cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting.
  • Using farm technology systems for data collection and productivity monitoring.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the role:

  • Possess a Level 2 or 3 qualification relevant to farming, horticulture, or agriculture.
  • Be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week on a rotating roster, including weekends.
  • Have the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and strong work ethics.
  • Must be eligible to work legally in New Zealand.
