Responsibilities
As a Farm Attendant at Tassal, you’ll play an active role in maintaining fish health and operational efficiency. Your daily duties include:
- Fish Husbandry: Monitoring salmon health, observing behavior, and ensuring welfare standards are upheld.
- Net Handling: Inputting nets into designated areas safely and efficiently to support optimal fish growth.
- General Labour: Inspecting pens, nets, and feeding equipment, performing maintenance and cleaning as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Following all company procedures, biosecurity, and environmental standards.
- Harvest Assistance: Helping with harvest-related activities when required.
- Safety Adherence: Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your team at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Supporting team members to ensure smooth daily operations on the water.
Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Must have full work rights in Australia.
- Cert III in Aquaculture or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to work in outdoor and marine environments.
- Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Previous aquaculture or farming experience is beneficial.
- Coxswains NC2 certification is desirable but not mandatory.
