Responsibilities

As a Farm Attendant at Tassal, you’ll play an active role in maintaining fish health and operational efficiency. Your daily duties include:

  1. Fish Husbandry: Monitoring salmon health, observing behavior, and ensuring welfare standards are upheld.
  2. Net Handling: Inputting nets into designated areas safely and efficiently to support optimal fish growth.
  3. General Labour: Inspecting pens, nets, and feeding equipment, performing maintenance and cleaning as needed.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Following all company procedures, biosecurity, and environmental standards.
  5. Harvest Assistance: Helping with harvest-related activities when required.
  6. Safety Adherence: Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your team at all times.
  7. Team Collaboration: Supporting team members to ensure smooth daily operations on the water.

Requirements

To qualify for this role, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Must have full work rights in Australia.
  • Cert III in Aquaculture or willingness to obtain it.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and marine environments.
  • Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Previous aquaculture or farming experience is beneficial.
  • Coxswains NC2 certification is desirable but not mandatory.
