Responsibilities
As a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science (Software Engineering), your key duties will include:
- Designing, delivering, and assessing undergraduate and postgraduate modules in areas such as Programming, Data Structures, Embedded Systems, and Mobile Application Development.
- Preparing and conducting engaging lectures, workshops, and seminars that promote active learning.
- Supervising student projects and dissertations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Developing innovative teaching materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with industry standards.
- Leading curriculum design, module development, and quality assurance activities within the Faculty.
- Contributing to research publications, scholarly outputs, and collaborative academic projects.
- Participating in faculty meetings, research committees, and strategic academic planning.
- Providing academic and career guidance to students, ensuring their success and professional growth.
- Collaborating with peers to support programme innovation and enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field (required).
- Minimum 2 years of higher education teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Evidence of curriculum development, module leadership, and research publications.
- Familiarity with UK higher education systems, academic regulations, and quality frameworks.
- All qualifications must be attested by UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) or eligible for attestation upon appointment.
- Must be eligible or willing to pursue UAE Ministry of Education equivalency.
- Industry experience in software engineering or applied computing is desirable.
