Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding and fabrication work in accordance with project requirements
  • Interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS) to select correct consumables and welding variables
  • Carry out MIG (GMAW) welding as a primary process
  • Undertake TIG (GTAW), Flux-core, and Stick (SMAW) welding where required
  • Operate and maintain welding machines, power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
  • Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and company standards
  • Work closely with boilermakers, welders, and workshop supervisors
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and team performance

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Welder) or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a welder qualification test
  • Considerable experience in GMAW (MIG) welding
  • Ability to read and interpret WPS (welding procedure specifications)
  • Experience working in a fabrication or workshop environment
  • Current and valid Australian driver’s license
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

  • Experience using fabrication and measuring equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time management and reliability
  • Problem-solving and practical thinking skills
  • Experience with stainless steel (advantageous)
  • Experience with TIG, Flux-core, or Stick welding (advantageous)
  • Forklift, dogman (DG), or high-risk work licenses (advantageous)
