Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality welding and fabrication work in accordance with project requirements
- Interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS) to select correct consumables and welding variables
- Carry out MIG (GMAW) welding as a primary process
- Undertake TIG (GTAW), Flux-core, and Stick (SMAW) welding where required
- Operate and maintain welding machines, power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and company standards
- Work closely with boilermakers, welders, and workshop supervisors
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team performance
Requirements
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Welder) or equivalent
- Ability to pass a welder qualification test
- Considerable experience in GMAW (MIG) welding
- Ability to read and interpret WPS (welding procedure specifications)
- Experience working in a fabrication or workshop environment
- Current and valid Australian driver’s license
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
