Responsibilities
- Interpret welding process specifications and instructions
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, manuals, and specifications
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment
- Perform TIG (GTAW) and GMAW welding on various metal components
- Examine completed welds to ensure they meet quality and specification standards
- Operate flame-cutting and oxygen arc cutting (arc-air) equipment
- Determine weldability of materials before fabrication or repair
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment safely
- Fabricate or repair metal parts using previously set-up welding machines
- Maintain welding, brazing, and soldering equipment and perform minor repairs
- Follow workplace safety procedures and quality control standards
Requirements
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of welding experience
- Authorization to work in Canada
- Willingness to relocate if required
- Experience working with aluminum alloys and stainless steel
- Ability to read and interpret welding drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of welding safety practices
